Educational Testing Service is the world's premier educational measurement institution and a leader in educational research. ETS, which is a nonprofit organization, develops and administers achievement, occupational and admissions tests, such as the College Board's SAT, for clients in education, government and business. ETS annually administers almost 11 million tests in the United States and 180 countries.

Nancy S. Cole, the fourth president of ETS, took office Jan. 1, 1994. She is a former college dean and a recognized expert in test fairness.
Headquartered in Princeton, N.J., ETS was founded in 1947 to assume the testing activities of the American Council on Education, the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching and the College Entrance Examination Board. Henry Chauncey, ETS's founding president, served as the organization's chief executive until his retirement in 1970.
ETS employs about 2,300 people full-time. More than 500 employees hold advanced degrees.
